Bryan Durham
Currently the Executive Editor at Variety India, I've worked with publications like Mid-Day, Bombay Times and dna. I've written about films and television shows, criticized them, promoted them; the same goes with music and musicians.Writing comes to me as easily as breathing. I'm known for fluency, flow, clarity of thought, accuracy, conciseness and newsiness. I've edited and put out promotional supplements. I've visualized, ideated and helped execute designs, layouts and videos consistently for over 20 years.
My father, Loxley Durham, is the reason I write. Poetry is my first love, but he urged me to spread my wings. I wrote and directed school plays. I studied and wrote about people. Kept diaries, wrote extensive notes and letters on people around me. I went to journalism school. I got my Master's in English Literature. I learned and unlearned a lot of what I had been taught.
I've had good and great and sometimes worse-for-wear teachers. I've had mentors who didn't hold back and never let me feel any less. I know I have a book in me somewhere. I'm looking to write for a visual medium, so there's that. I find myself taking pictures and videos hoping I'll do better than just pointing-and-clicking with my trusty iPhone 13 and Pixel 4a.
I've taught myself to build, engage and enable online communities. I constantly push myself to scale, upskill and create something new.
I'm available at work@bryandurham.com for all kinds of idea activation, brainstorming, strategising, industry support and writing.
